Accomplishment and Growth.

It’s filled in each of ours mind to achieve things in life.

We feel we would get a great amount of satisfaction when we accomplish certain things. For that we say ourselves to work harder and harder so that we accomplish our desired goal in our life.

For lots of people, accomplishment is like getting a rank one at certain field. It makes them think that’s the top most position available to anyone and they must have it, and they think they would be the supreme at that field.

The sad part is, positions change very quickly, often when we reach the top, the level of our dedication may lower or someone else’s dedication may rise. And a defeat when we are at the top always leaves us devastated.

Something like if I am the best player of table tennis in my college i.e. the supreme position, I would obviously get the feeling as I have accomplished the best spot available. As the time passes, when someone else beats me in the game, I will be broken. It’s like someone less competent has gone over me. It feels something as shame inside us.

But in case we follow the ‘Satisfaction through Growth’ factor rather than following ‘Satisfaction by Accomplishment’ factor, it would be lesser burden even when we fail during a position when we are at the top

If we get the mentality of being better than what we were yesterday, i.e. growing ourselves rather than competing for the positions, I feel any rise or any fall in so called positions wouldn’t be much of a problem. Because every day is a sort of victory feeling to us, as for sure we are better than what we were yesterday.

Instead of aspiring or clinging on with the position, let us try to grow and be better every day at what we do.

Why should a position matter when we know we are growing each and every day without anyone stopping us.
