Its more satisfying to be at the receiving end.

I was just reading the blog post from one of my favorite author Preeti shenoy, which had stressed on ‘learning to take the things”. It came to my mind that, in our life many a times we give a lot of value to few persons.

They are kind of very much important to us no matter what! There are numerous reasons on why that person is important to us; it might be, because of the respect, or love and care or a secret crush!

The importance goes to such an extent that we forget to realize that we are losing our own value in the process of making them important.

We start to like the things they like, we do the things which they like to do, and almost all of our way of life goes according to the liking of that other person.

For some period of time we feel like it’s a good thing that’s happening, but at a certain point, we would feel like we have lost our own individuality.

We feel like we are giving the best we can to that person and we don’t even get a proper attention from them. Even though we are hurt at some point of time, we don’t express it to them in fear of hurting or losing them.

We have got our own individuality. Yes! Every person we respect, love and care are important ones in our life, but if we don’t express them that we are hurt by their behavior, it continues for ever.

It’s ok to demand a little more respect for our individuality. After all we too are something special. There is no point in giving everything and not taking back.

Learn and get used to be important too. There is a little more inner satisfaction to be in the receiving end after all!

  1. True that ! They say, "Do not treat someone very special unless you are ready to be treated like shit !".
