Consistency is the Key.

My eyes opened as the clock ticked 9 in the morning!! And the dental appointment was scheduled at 9:45. Rushing out of home on a holiday is such a pain!!

My dentist is a jovial person, there would usually be rounds of conversation on random things before the actual treatment began. Of course as I am an “Avid Speaker cum Listener” I love the way how conversation flows.

He started with his own story, to explain me the significance of something called as consistency in anyone’s life, during his internship he worked at a place that paid him the least amount of stipend but, the consistency in the work that he got as an intern made him what he is currently, A Successful Dentist.

Of course he gave me an insight of how consistency can overcome the biggest of the hurdle in one’s life. How small things can lead to bigger changes in one’s lives.

The question arose asking what actually consistency is.

In simple words it is doing things without much diverting from it. You can say, doing anything over and over may not be in the same way, but in a way that is better than the common way!

When I looked at all the failures in my life…. what he said made perfect sense.

Almost all the failures in our lives happen because we lose the consistency in our life, at some point of time we get diverted and also we would start to do things which we shouldn’t be doing in order to avoid the things which we should actually be doing.

It’s something like; we do not stick to any particular field. Of course there are lots of distraction in our lives, be it the Social Medias or the television or the various applications on the smartphones.

Overcoming which surely is a difficult things but,

There surely need to be that one thing absolutely necessary to achieve any goal worth having! i.e Being Consistent on things that you do!!

I would like to end with the quote of Aristotle “we are what we repeatedly do; therefore Excellence is not an act but a habit’
