In life, without doubt everyone has an extreme desire to
succeed. In one way or the other we want to be the best at some or the other
field. Without doubt there is a great difference between the desire to succeed and
to actually succeed.
As I was sitting and sipping my coffee, I once again wondered
what actually stopped the desire to convert itself into the success that we
always want.
When we make up our mind to do something or be something, there
would be a strong power inside, which will drive us towards the path.
As and when the time passes, the strong power obviously fades,
how would it fade would be the question? I feel it’s because of the thing
called ‘craving’ that creeps in different forms. Which blocks the view of our
actual goal.
Craving often comes as a slow poison, where in we wouldn’t even
notice its effect of poisoning us.
In my case I feel craving have come in form of movies and TV
shows, instead of studying for a serious exam ahead this craving is blocking
the path.
Craving can be in almost all forms, which would often be the contradictory
path of your goal. Craving may come in the form of deep desire to eat chats or
chocolates and sweets or some unhealthy stuff when you would be having a goal to
maintain a fit body.
Sometimes craving may be to sleep for a longer duration than to
wake up at decent time and start your important work if not to do the extra meditation
or yoga!
Craving may also be to play candy crush or clash of clans rather
than go out and play badminton or table tennis which would be actually
healthier to you physically.
The appropriate term to be said would be ‘Procrastination’, for almost all, at maximum number of times, the
powerful desire for doing something contradictory to their goal always arises.
Why? Because fulfilling their
craving gives them the instant pleasure needed, but sadly it would not
last long as expected.
The moment when we make our mind and actually start to kick out
our craving, the moment when we give more respect and heed to our will power,
is the moment when our life would start to be positively awesome.
Of course nothing is easy to get rid off!
It would take long time for will power to conquer the craving. But
nothing is impossible. I would like to quote a line from the movie Bangalore days
here which would relate to this article,
‘The only thing that stands between who you are and who you want
to be is………‘YOU’’
It would only be you who can set the things right and make your
own life awesome.
