Dependency or Independency?

The term dependency and independence were revolving round my head form quite a long time. When I wrote my last post I had got a bit of thought regarding that, now with some more thoughts I write the following post.

It’s a common feel to think that the word dependency usually means depending monetarily or physically on some another individual. Of course without doubt those are dependency itself, but when we think of developing ourselves beyond a certain pre-determined boundary, then there is a need to be independent not only monetarily and physically but also be very much independent with what we think as well as how our thoughts would affect us mentally and emotionally.

Very often, our thoughts and emotions are very much dependent on the people around us. Either good or bad, people around us have a lot of influence on what we think and on how we feel.

Almost all of the times our thinking process very much takes into consideration the response, as well as the feeling of the people around us. Even when we have to start certain kind of work, I feel our mind gives us the input of prospective replies of the people around us, even though they may not have any reply to us.

There is a great amount of dependency on our part at most of the time even when taking small or big decisions. Unless we permit ourselves to think independently, and those thoughts would not depend on other people’s reaction, I feel we would not be independent at all till that time.

I am of the feeling that avoiding those kinds of persons who have a negative approach towards life is one of the best ways to avoid a bad decision. They are the ones who would make us think in a different approach which wouldn’t be thought if we were ourselves.

When we trust ourselves to decide what we want in our life, we wouldn’t allow external forces to discourage or have bad influence on us so, why not we be independent with our thoughts and flourish than be dependent and hinder in our life?
