After a long time I went to my place and of course it was quite
a pleasant feeling to be back home!
While casually talking to my family, they mentioned things about
one of my batch mate, saying he and his mom had come over to shops to sell the
products that they had manufactured.
While talking about my batch mate his mom had said it like ‘I don’t
feel bad that my son is not a good scorer in the academics, I won’t let that be
a disadvantage to him, rather I would teach him the things I know i.e the art
of selling, by which he can lead a life.
She even added, what is the use scoring marks and getting some
average jobs at big towns and cities that you don’t deserve ?
You work monotonously for some minimal salary where in you
are not able to save money as well as have the peace of mind?
‘How true her words were’ was the thought that came into my
mind.
Of all people I know it usually is the case where in the
approach of any parent would be to make their child study the general academic
course.
Be it any field, the technical or non-technical, much of the
focus would be on giving the set of education to the child as per the syllabus.
I feel the chances of that education helping an individual for
leading a life comes to a bare minimum.
Instead of just pressurizing to cover up the syllabus and go to
job that gives you some pay, why not in addition to covering up the studies we
teach our child how to lead a life!
Some things like, when few job doesn’t work out, the child must
not be frustrated for not finding another one, rather he must be able to earn a decent living and lead a
good life.
Instead of being unhappy all time for being underemployed. He
should be taught to do things that give him some control over his life.
I feel the day when the parent teaches the child those things that help the child lead a decent life rather than just be better in a rat
race would be the day that is best for both parent as well as the child.
