From ideas .... to actions

Each individual is super creative.

The habits and routines that he adapts turns him into mediocre soul, by being so- it is quite difficult to quantify what we have actually lost.

Ideas pop up in each individual’s mind almost at all the times. The sources for ideas are countless; at times we get weird ideas when we are walking down the sidewalks, at times it’s from the article that we read in a newspaper. Even when staring at stars or sipping hot coffee our mind generates lots of good outputs.

The question is, if there are so many ideas around us why on earth are we still mediocre? Why are we doing the same boring things that we hate doing?

Where do the ideas disappear? Why aren’t we able to implement them?

The answer to this question was pretty simple, “Our brain actually does things that make us feel good rather than what actually is good”

We feel good thinking about the idea, but articulating the thoughts into action isn’t so much pleasant thing! We have to go through some pain to do the action.

We do not feel good to take a piece of paper, write down our idea, research about its practicality…… and so on. And we procrastinate action till the idea is almost killed.

As said by Robin Sharma “The best leader never leaves the site of a good idea without doing something- no matter how small – to breathe some life into it.

Don’t just let your idea die its own death even before it’s born.

Start acting on your ideas! Give it a new life

Un-defining the Happiness

I like talking to different individuals.

When I meet any new individual, I try to ask them what do they crave for in their life and what is that they give priority for?

Each of them has their own stories defining their priorities and cravings!!

I feel until and unless a few things or someone triggers a thought in our mind, our mind will never think something different apart from our regular routine stuffs.

When I asked myself the question, what is that I give priority for?

I could only think of one thing “Happiness”

Amidst the stressful life that each and every one has, especially in the so called “corporate world” there will always be a feel of something missed out elements, i.e “Happiness”

In the race portraying our life to everyone around us, we have started to accept an informal definition of happiness.

Where in the importance has been shifted from being happy to showing that we are happy.

Happiness is something that comes without any definition. It’s just a feeling that is purely felt. The things that make one happy may not at all be relevant to some other individual.

Don’t just rely on other's definition of happiness, and assume the same things will make you happy. At the end of the day You will decide your happiness.

You are unique!!

You are special!!

You have your own set of stuffs that make you happy.

Start cherishing that uniqueness and un-define the "Happiness"

Peer Pressure: Doing things that need not actually be done.

Most of the times, I ride with a colleague of mine to office. A good thing about the ride is discussion of random topics that enlighten each of us.

It so happened that we started discussing about one topic that affects each of us in our life “Peer Pressure”

It is said by few great people that “You are average of the five people you most associate with”

Right from the simplest of the decisions that we make in our life, to the biggest of choices, the people around us have an impact.

If we go with the definition, Google defines peer pressure as ‘influence from members of one’s peer group’. In simple words, if someone has an ability to control/modify a few things in your life, its peer pressure.

From a very small age, we grew up following the words or action of others. To do anything we sought out the consent of others. May it be parents or some other individual; there was someone whose words would effect on what we do.

In a healthy way, it’s good to have people, who would guide us towards the path of success, but what often we can see is, peer pressure preventing us from going to a greater scale.

I feel Knowingly or unknowingly, we tend to become victim of peer pressure, which would make us obliged to do certain things which we were not intended to do.

Something such as because of the peer group, we end up going to a Pub and try a pint or waste time hanging out at malls doing absolute nothing of great value….

We may even be at such situation which would make us feel awkward in the group to not do something which you actually know it as something of no use or which is harmful to you.

The examples of decisions that we take because of peer pressure are way too numerous.

It’s better for us to understand very quickly that,

“If you give someone the power to feed you, you have given them power to starve you as well”

So be a bit careful whom you associate with and to whom you give the liberty to affect the decisions you make.

Surround Positivity and spread the same.

Don't Just service your vehicle, Service your 'Body and Mind too'

I am quite a lazy person. When someone points out half inch think dust on my Activa, I counter them by saying washing vehicle is such a waste of water, which is already scarce in our Bengaluru.

About a week back I serviced my Black Activa which had turned brown. And to my surprise, it had created wonders!! Right from the efficiency to comfort, everything seemed as super smooth.

Apart from guys like me, majority of them regularly service their 2 or 4 wheelers.

This activity of servicing made me realize that ample amount of money and time is spent by us in servicing the vehicles.

A question did arise; of course it’s a good thing to service our vehicles regularly, but how often have we remembered to service ourselves?

I mean service our Body and Our Brains!!

A tangible object which can be replaced is given lots of prominence to increase its shelf life and efficiency. But when it comes to our body and mind, which is almost irreplaceable, taking good care of it is majorly forgotten!

It is said that we are what we eat and we become what we think! Our Food habits determine the way our health would be. Be it for now or for future, our health majorly depends on what we EAT!

Amidst the hopeless food habits of ours, how many times have we given a thought to detox the body, maybe at least once in a week? Or a month? I doubt we haven’t even thought about detoxing once in a year too!! In the so called busy life of ours, the nutritious food has kind of lost its prominence. Leading to our body loading up with calories without nutrients.

             Similarly goes with our brain, almost all times it would be filled with so much of stress, anxiety and junk making it to be occupied with numerous unnecessary thoughts;

At regular intervals minds too needs to clear the cache memory to be more efficient. Techniques to release stress are numerous in number, but are we following it regularly? is the question.

Like the vehicle that we own, our body and mind are the vehicles that would be with us till we die. They are the ones that we cannot replace or discard.

Don’t just service the physical possessions, Start servicing your Body and Minds too!

Overthinking - The problem of feeding junk to brain

I kind of felt it true when someone had said me that 90 percent of the problems that anyone thinks he has arose only because of over thinking.

We humans are given the most unique features by the creator. The power to 'Think' and power to 'Speak'. These are the features that make us overpower any other species in this world.

It at time seems like we are being much more vulnerable because of power of thinking, instead of using this unique gift for our advantage.

It is noticeable that the awareness of physical fitness is quite ample in today’s world, where as the mental fitness is completely ignored. We highly tend to feed our brain with the useless junk without filtering anything out of it.

With mind filled with unfiltered things, thoughts roll around our mind quite freely without much of restriction, our brain starts to think about any random thoughts that may start by any simple instances such as visual contact or oral contact.

There are so many things that would happen in our life that actually doesn't need any kind of response. The best possible thing that we can do with such things is to ignore!

Overthinking about useless things consumes out our quality time without giving any valuable output. The quicker we start to feed our brain with some healthy stuff, the quicker we tend to stop overthinking about junk.

Overthinking at times creates an illusional problem that didn’t even exist at first stance.

As I heard from a person saying that “Mind is the most expensive piece of real estate’ we absolutely cannot afford to underutilise it by feeding it the junk” I realised how costly it would turnout by doing so....

Thank you Teachers!!

From quite a few years I have developed this habit of wishing my guru's a happy teacher’s day on September 5th.

A day remembering the ones who have contributed to our lives in making the right things in right way at right time.

Any guru would play a vital role in one’s life.

We are the reflections of what they have moulded us into.

Gurus are our parents who taught us how to speak, they are the teachers who taught us how to read and write. Later they come as mentors who would guide us for leading a blissful life.

Gurus are such selfless souls who would feel happy by the success of their students. They would be the motivating factor when one is dejected and low.

They are the only ones who would wish that their students be much more successful than them in all aspects of life.

So, on this day taking a moment of our life to thank them for all the things they have done to us and for making us what we are today!!

It's all about your perspective

Amidst the nature green and heavy downpour of rain, with a roof above your head and a hot steaming cup of coffee in your hand,  it feels like Einstein’s “The theory of relativity” is applied, Hours together that has gone by, seems like a fraction of a second.

For anything that happens in this world, each and every individual will have his own set of perspective towards it. The way he sees the life is way totally different than any other individual in the world.

Few things or event can be so much blissful to one individual and the very same thing may be of much irritation to others.

Each Individual would have different perspective for any event or situation that’s happening in his life.

Taking an example, a ban on plastic bags in one’s perspective maybe a bad thing where in the shopkeepers don’t give you plastic and charge you extra for the reusable bags. Whereas in other individual’s perspective, it’s a great step where in the environment is saved from being dustbin from the bags that we throw.

Similarly, the perspective on fitness is also different, for few fitness comes as most important priority in life, but for few others it would come as ‘let’s follow if time permits’ type of approach, they feel they are busy and don’t have enough time to devote to fitness or so.

Even during the worst situation in our life, we can opt to see things positively; because we are absolutely what we think of ourselves. This approach in turn makes even the negative things positive.

As one quote says “Some people look at sunsets as the end of something beautiful that once was: ‘The Day’. Others see it as simply a new beginning to a different, but equally beautiful thing: ‘The Night’.

Perspective, my people, it’s always perspective.

-Sunsets are both a beginning and an end; you are the one to choose
