Happiness.

In the current lifestyle which we follow, it’s a usual thing to be stressful. Obviously the hectic work schedules of the employees, the never ending tuition and extra coaching classes of the kids. The pressure to get a good career for the college students are few reasons for the stress.

Amidst these hectic schedules we have lost something known as ‘Being Happy’.

Happiness is hardly seen anywhere today. When we walk across the street in a city, more than 90 percent of the people will surely appear very much occupied with their stress.

The concepts of happiness are very much misunderstood nowadays. It’s thought something as getting more things or being ahead of someone.

Few things like getting more likes for a profile picture on Facebook are considered as happiness now. When another person gets more likes surely this happiness vanishes soon, why? Because it seems as if that person has won something and we have lost.

Many a times! Even when a person gets a job with a good pay he doesn’t seem happy, the reason may even be as small as some cousin of his is being paid more! We often start to feel happy when we are better than someone else.

What we forget is when another person overtakes us the happiness which we have got is soon lost and every time someone does something better or gets something better we start to get a churn in our stomach.

We have narrowed the concept of happiness to a great extent and have actually forgotten numerous reasons which lie right in front of us for being happy.

Few small things such as being happy on receiving complement for the new dress that we have worn or something as being happy when mom makes a tasty dish or when a best friend gives a tight hug for supporting him are things to be cherished.

It just takes little efforts from our side to be happy.

When we stop comparing ourselves with others and get out of the mentality of ‘The more we have the happier we are’ then, we would start seeing happiness in small things that are around us and our life would be much happier.

Accept rejections.

Yesterday I was talking to an old classmate of mine and she said me it would be almost like dying to face a rejection from anyone.

It surely gave me a thought about the rejections, why people are so afraid of rejections! Many a times we want to do certain things but we fail to do in fear of being rejected.

Be it something small such as talking to a good looking lady who stays in your area. You get creeps in your minds about her rejecting to talk to you, a thing that might hurt your ego or self-respect.

Moving a little further, In spite of you being a nice person, when you propose someone and that person rejects you for being average on looks!, Ah sounds Bad!

But what’s wrong in accepting the reality? Yes! I am being rejected by someone. No doubt it’s painful, but it’s far better than sitting idle and not trying at all.

Not only in these ‘pretty ones’ things! In many aspects of life you may face rejections! The painting you drew may be rejected to be auctioned, the photograph you clicked may be rejected or even a book which you have written with full dedication may be rejected to get published.

No matter what, you can’t just impress few people. It’s the reality! It’s better for us to know that it’s okay not to impress the ‘FEW’ when there are lots more people who are impressed by us.

Yes! It’s okay to get rejected and it’s absolutely not shameful.

Rejections should always give you a push to do and be better. It shouldn’t hinder you by creating insecurity and negativity around yourself.

Let the desire inside you to succeed be more than the fear of being rejected!

Actions are more important than mere plans - A guest post by me

Actions are more important than mere plans

Hello guys this is Arjun Bhat of xpresstoimpress.blogspot.in doing a guest post in my friend vaishnavi’s blog.

In life we tend to have a big ‘to do list’, everyone aspires to become something which is most attached to them, they want to become something thinking that it would give them immense happiness.

At a very young age, the list consists of many crazy things, which would give a thrill in doing it, but as years pass, the list gets refined, we eliminate things that seem ridiculous and only achievable stuffs are left back.

In many cases, after a certain time, the whole of the list gets replaced by routines. We tend to give up what we wanted to be in the past.

If we ask the question, why has it happened? The answer is simple, we just made the ‘to do lists’ but didn’t take any proper supporting actions to fulfill the needs which was expected for the items there.

We take too long to plans stuffs.

If we want to get a good physique, we think a lot about the gym, the equipment there, the food habit, the great body which we would want to build and the plans go on, what we fail to do is: start exercising, which is the most basic step here.

Similar things keep on happening that alters our ‘to do list’ easily, what we have to start is, to take action more swiftly than just keep on planning.

The journey to any destination starts with a step; it is for us to focus more on the starting of any task rather than focusing on ending it.

Only the thing that has begun comes to an end! How can things end without even beginning it?

Wishes

I wish I was a bird that could just fly around every time

I wish I was a butterfly who could just showoff its bright colors

I wish I was a cat and sit calmly at a corner of the house

I wish I was a lion who would majestically rule the jungle

I wish I was a snake who could just scare almost all

I wish I was at least a dog and wander everywhere and still remain cheerful

Uff and alas. I am a human.

With full of emotions and feelings

Yes with those feelings that you can’t avoid

Yes with those feelings that hurts you without any reason.

And yes the feelings that only humans can understand.

Prioritize Yourself

For each and every individual there are people in this world to whom they value more than themselves. They may be their parents, siblings, spouses, children or anyone else.

Happiness of the other individual is always given priority.

A mom, in spite of her work and stress, each time prioritizes her children. She never says a no for the demands made by her kids. Her sacrifice cannot be compared to anything. A father too works day and night in order to get his kids a good standard of living, education and everything else.

Without the proper support of the wife, even the best husband fails to flourish. A wife sacrifices her dreams and supports her husband unconditionally without expecting anything in return. She would be happy just to see a smile of accomplishment in her husband’s face.

An elder sister starts to work part time during her college so that her younger brother can easily pay his school fee and concentrate on his academics.

A young engineer who was posted for work at the foreign country skips his breakfast and other expenses so that he could send some extra money to his parents, who have toiled all their lives to give him a good education.

There are so many examples where other people are given more priority.

Priorities for other close ones are stressed to that extent that after certain time, we fail to recognize ourselves. It would be considered as a duty to give priority to others and when the priority is diminished, it would be considered as something offending.

No offence in giving priorities to others. But what’s the use of giving so much priority to another one where our own individuality would come to a nil?

We must learn to value ourselves too, If not full priorities, we must at least keep a pinch of priority to ourselves.

After all, we too are someone important in this huge world.

Habits play a major role

Habits play a significant role in everyone’s life. Many a times the habits define what we actually are.

Few of the habits are inculcated by the way we are brought up like the habit of being a vegetarian and majority of them are adapted as and when the situation comes.

Usually we think our habits have effect only on us. But the impacts of our habits are far wider than we can imagine. Few simple things such as a habit of choosing a soap can have a great impact on the country’s economy.

Another significant habit is of using the water. This was an abundant resource in past and a very scarce one at present. Our way of brushing, bathing and cleaning etc. can determine how much resources are wasted; few simple changes in way of life can save a lot.

The lists of habit are endless. Each and every habit plays different role all the time. We just fail to analyze them closely.

I feel habits can be divided into 2 types, one type where habits become positive support to you and the outside world and second type are those habits which become negative support to you and the outside world.

The good things about habits are, we can change them. As soon as we understand that the habits are having negative impact on us. We need to try our best to change them and go with positive habits.

Why to go with bad habits? When there are so much of good ones out here?

Food and Relationship

In this huge world with 7 billion people, it sounds easy to find a good opposite one! But practically, finding that compatible one isn’t as easy as it sounds!

Usually it is presumed that, with the compatible one, everything is so much perfect, but few small things, at times create a lot of glitches.

Something such as the food habit of individual can be a significant thing in relationships.

In a perfectly compatible relationship, food habits seem like an unimportant thing. If both of them share a same pattern of food habits I too agree with the point. What if the food habits differ? What if one is from a pure vegetarian upbringing? And other is not?

Would it still make the difference?

It surely would. A vegetarian will surely feel uncomfortable when their closest one dines meat on their next seat.

Similarly it would still be unpleasant for the non-veggies when their other half restricts them from having their favorite cuisine.

Sacrificing our food habits and living on partner’s choice would surely work out at the pleasant times but it would surely be a problem when the times are hard.

I feel it’s always better to choose the compatible partner who respects our food choice and we better respect theirs too. Because when we have come together in spite of many difficulties, food must never be the reason to break apart.

After all we eat to live. And not live to eat.
